Les deux prochains numéros traiteront des luttes autochtones et anarchistes pour la terre et l'autonomie et de la façon dont les communautés locales peuvent s'organiser pour renforcer leur résilience face à l'aggravation de la catastrophe climatique.

Les effets de ce changement climatique incontrôlable sont déjà là. Si les 50 dernières années d'éclairage au gaz ont clairement montré une chose, c'est que les politiciens et les entrepreneurs qui se sont lancés dans la course à l'énergie verte ne privilégieront jamais les intérêts de la vie sur Terre à leur quête de profits. Bolstered by unwavering, uncritical support from NGO’s, energy corporations portray themselves as cutting edge innovators in green energy technology while hedging their bets and maintaining diversified portfolios – packed with fossil fuel investments.

The coming two installments will discuss Indigenous and anarchist struggles for land and autonomy and how local communities can get organized to build resiliency in the face of worsening climate catastrophe.

The effects of runaway climate change are already here. If the past 50 years of gas-lighting have made one thing abundantly clear, it's that the politicians and entrepreneurs leading the charge for green energy will never prioritize the interests of life on earth in their pursuit of profits. So what are we going to do about it?

Comrades have also purchased a pressure washer to share freely with those within their communities and power inverters to help the indigenous Mbya Guarani community, who are reclaiming their lands in the south of Porto Alegre, rebuild their solar power system. As we take stock of the extensive damage, we have decided to raise our fundraising goal to $7500 CAD.

While the rains have stopped for now, the Jacuí river has still overflowed its banks and the floodwaters have yet to recede. Many of Porto Alegre’s water treatment plants remain completely submerged with tapwater only accesible in the far southern portion of the city.

For the sake of transparency; the subMedia collective is raising these funds which we will send to our comrade in Porto Alegre who is involved with the Esp(a)ço community center.

They have wiped away entire communities, and killed dozens of people.

The anarchist social center in Porto Alegre, Esp(a)ço, has been set up as a hub to receive donations of supplies, and to get them to those in need. They need our help.

Inspired by the Palestinian resilience and anti-colonialist struggle, protesters worldwide autonomously carried out actions at nearly a dozen ports, blockaded three international airports, and shut down numerous commercial highways. The movement shut down operations in 20 factories worldwide, in a rage against their complicity in the occupation of Palestine.

Why did the call for economic blockades on April 15th spread like wildfire across the world? 75 years of occupation is too long. The destruction and genocide in Gaza was the final straw.

The fight for Palestinian freedom cannot be won through symbolic actions. The actions taken on April 15th cost hundreds of millions, if not billions of dollars to an economy that profits off of colonialism and war. Escalation has just begun.

Palestine must be free in our lifetime.

By levying trumped up charges and attempting to hold the entire movement culpable for specific actions, proponents of Cop City had hoped to divide and conquer by separating the more militant segments of the movement from their broader base of support. But thanks to the steadfast solidarity of the Stop Cop City movement, this has so far been unsuccessful.

As the first 61 RICO defendants are arraigned, the movement holds its breath. Public support is needed now more than ever. There’s still time to join the Block Cop City gathering in Atlanta from Nov 10th through 13th, or organize an autonomous solidarity action near you.

Western media outlets have kicked into high gear to present Hamas as bloodthirsty monsters and Israel as innocent victims, and righteous defenders of their homeland, while purposely omitting over 70 years of historical context.

Hamas’ bloody attack occurred within a context of generations of brutal occupation and the systematic displacement of Palestinians from their lands. The state of Israel, guided by Zionist ideology and sanctioned by the UN and imperial powers in the west, has been gradually conquering and stealing Palestine land since the Nakba in 1948

The utterly disproportionate response from Israel has destroyed hospitals, refugee camps, and damaged or destroyed 45% of all homes in Gaza. This has stoked renewed fears that Israel will go for broke, in an effort to displace all Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, permanently.

The time for meaningful solidarity with Palestine is now. Much of the munitions and military hardware used by the IDF is manufactured in the west, primarily in the US.

From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free.
